The first three days are always the hardest because you need to engage the students but set the ground rules. I like the ideas above on different activities to have my students work on that will get them thinking without taking notes and working on repeated problems. I could see myself using the almond activity in my future classroom. I also think it is helpful to create rules for using the smartboard as some students might take advantage of the technology in the classroom. Thanks for your great advice!
I'm curious if you use Google Classroom. It seems like you are a Google district. I find it easier than just drive.
We are a Google district. However we don't have Google classroom. Maybe in the future.
